Your
success in school and career depends upon your mastery of some level of
mathematical skill and understanding. In fact, a good background in
mathematics can make the difference between "average" and "exceptional"
opportunities.

Mathematics is the study of patterns, shapes
and relationships; an art, characterized by internal consistency and
order; a way of thinking; a tool and a science; and a language, which
uses well-defined symbols and terms. Mathematics focuses on thinking
math, which covers problem solving and reasoning; and content math,
which consists of patterns and relationships, number sense, geometry and
spatial sense, and probability and statistics. The College of
Mathematics explores a broad scope of mathematics.
